John Zorn was talking in Houston, and as a teenager played piano, guitar and flute.
After releasing albums on several American and Asian labels, Zorn signed with the Elektra-Nonesuch label and attracted wide acclaim in 1986 with his interpretations of sculpture composed by Coltrane, the album [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in 1987 and the first album by Naked City in 1999.
Early major plays included much more "game pieces", in which performers are allowed to improvise while following certain structural rules.
